Kathleen Burke

Born September 5, 1913 in Hammond, IN.
Died April 9, 1980 in Chicago, IL.
Ms. Burke was on the radio, and fashion model in Chicago from age of 13.  She also performed in many films for 5 years, during the 1930's. She won the role of "Panther Girl" during a nationwide search.  The movie was an H. G. Wells derivation "The Island of Lost Souls".  She is also remembered for her role as Lionel Atwill's ill-fated bride in "Murders in the Zoo" (she ended up being devoured by alligators in this 1933 chiller) and as femme fatale Tania in "Lives of a Bengal Lancer" (1935).
