 Bruce Britt was born and raised in Gary, Ind., just a block away from the Jackson’s original home. He actually saw the Jackson 5 before their 1969 Motown breakthrough. He believes the Jacksons rank among the best bands in pop music history, alongside the Beatles, the Temptations, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Sly and the Family Stone and Led Zeppelin. He credits the Jackson 5 for sparking his interest in music.
Bruce Britt has written for a variety of publications, including the Detroit Free Press, Washington Post, Billboard, San Francisco Chronicle, Grammy magazine and Hits magazine. He’s the former pop music editor for the Los Angeles Daily News, where he won the LA Press Club of Award of Excellence.
A freelance writer, Bruce Britt currently lives just a short drive from the Jackson estate in suburban LA. He is a singer, songwriter and guitarist. He swears he’s not stalking the Jacksons. |
