Mrs. Taylor graduated from West Side High School in 1973. She went to Spelman College from 1974 to 1975, Indiana University Northwest and the Chicago Institute School of the Arts. She played the character Claudia Johnson on the Soap Opera, General Hospital from 1979 to 1988. She was the first black character on the series. She has been married to actor Meshach Taylor since 1983 and lives in California with her four children.
