 Ms. Charles graduated from Merrillville High School in 1961. She was crowned Miss Indiana in 1964 and moved to Hollywood shortly thereafter. She guest starred on such shows as The Monkees, The Wild, Wild West, and the Red Skelton Variety Show. She appeared in four movies including Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine (1965), Winter a Go-Go (1965), Clambake (1967), and I Sailed to Tahiti with an All Girl Crew (1969). She married Mike Smith of the Dave Clark Five, in 2001. Mike Smith was born December 6, 1943 in London, England. In October 2003, Mike fell from a fence at his home in Spain. He broke his neck and was paralyzed from the shoulder blades down, and presently resides in London England. |
