Former football star turned actor, producer and writer. He was a four-time Indiana all-state selection at Gary Emerson High School and played professional football for the Detroit Lions, 1958-62 and 1964-70. Mr. Karras starred in the television series "Webster" from 1983 to 1987 with his wife Susan Clark. He also appeared in "Blazing Saddles" (1974) and "N.F.L. Monday Night Football" from 1974-1976.
