The History of N.F.O.R.M. New Freedom Out-Reach Ministries
In 1995 New Freedom Out-Reach Ministries (N.F.O.R.M.) was born in the hearts of Minister Anthony B. Jones and Evangelist Camille Jones. They found themselves being needed in multiple communities, churches, and individual lives. So, they decided to write the vision that God had birth within them, and started working as a “Musical and Family-Helps@ Ministry. The specific areas of interest that they worked in were marriage classes and workshops, gospel music and fine arts performance, outreach of food and clothing for the needy (in cooperation with a network of churches) and searching for donations from companies who would support the work.
In 1993, as members of Beacon Holy Nazarene Church, the Jones family held their first marriage seminar in their home. It was an excellent turnout, and they were encouraged to go forth with more work in the Lord. 1994 marked the beginning of the Jones family work with then Pastor Steven K. Butler and the Chicago District Minister=s Alliance. Together they soon held an outreach program for the youth with their musical talents and worship styles. Minister A. Jones, with the help of his family worked with the CDMA until 1997, at which time N.F.O.R.M. began their Charter with the State. In 1998 the Nazarene and Commandment Keeping Presbytery Board organization was developed, in which pastor Jones became the secretary, and now the president of that organization.
New Freedom Out-Reach Ministries and Holy Nazarene Temple soon began worshipping together at the Walker family's home, who were members of Holy Nazarene Temple Church. When the health of Evangelist Emile O. Jones began to fail (the father of Minister Anthony B. Jones), Minister Anthony B. Jones picked up where his father left off, desiring to keep his father's visions alive. In the year of 2000 the two ministries, both seeds of Beacon Holy Nazarene Church, merged under New Freedom, and have grown stronger ever since. Services moved from the Walker's home to that of the Jones family. During this time it was conceived in the hearts of the Jones and the Thomas families to one-day worship under the same roof, until finances would become strong enough for both to have their own building. In July of 2001 God blessed New Freedom in sharing facilities with True Seed Nazarene Apostle Faith Church (Pastor Victoria Thomas), which is also a seed of Holy Nazarene Temple.
In July of 2003, now pastors, Anthony & Camille Jones oldest son, Antonio R. Jones was born into eternity. Seven months later Pastor Jones’ Father followed. This put a great burden on the family, which after a few years had to slow down and recover their strength. In the first weekend of August of 2007 New Freedom Out-Reach Ministries will hold their 10th year anniversary, wherein they look forward to showing a new level of excellence in Christ.
