Welcome to the Lake County Retired Teachers Association (LCRTA) website! Chartered May 27, 1965, we are an organized group of retired teachers who taught or live in Lake County, Indiana.
The LCRTA is an affiliate of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association (IRTA) and National Retired Teachers Association (NRTA). Any retired teacher, administrator, or surviving spouse who is receiving a pension from the Indiana State Teachers Retirement Fund may become a member of the LCRTA upon payment of annual dues of $10 by March 1 of each year.
Yearly dues for IRTA are $30, renewable each September or deductible automatically from the September check. Any active teacher, spouse, friend, or relative may also become Associate Members of the IRTA. Yearly dues are $5 for Associate Membership; Associate Membership in the county organization is $10 yearly.
Lake County proudly claims the current IRTA president. Crown Point resident Eugene Wease was installed at the Annual Representative Assembly in Indianapolis in May 2007. He began his 2-year term of office June 1.
