AVIATION PRESENTATION

and EXHIBIT

will follow our next meeting, this Friday Nov 9

Meeting will start at 3 p.m

so that CCHS member, Aviation Historian and author, Tony Mireles will be able to give us his presentation on Aviation and some of its connections to Calumet City after our meeting. Sue Warner will begin the presentation, speaking on the exhibits of 2 famous national flights that had anniversaries in 2007 and the Flying Tigers and their connections to Calumet Citians Al Ciastko and Richard Uram during World War II.  This should be an interesting and informative session. Hope to see many members there!

The annual Illinois Association of Museums  Conference was held Oct 24 - 26 in Springfield this year and was attended by Sue Warner and Casimira Bilinski. Many informative sessions took place, including one on preparation for the Bicentennial of Lincoln’s birth to be celebrated nationwide in 2009. The CCHS has a lot planned for that year.
